Saq pas se? "What's up?"
So, I have been here for four days now, and have eaten more food, and better food, than I do in a month of college.
Who would have ever thought that? I come to HAITI and eat TOO much.
Crazy, the worst part is yet to come.
So, I was using the 100% DEET to spray the windows and screens, etc., et.al.
Me, being the dumb ass that I am, was spinning the small bottle in my hand. I went to spray the last screen, nope. Sprayed right into my eyes. Blindly, running down the hallway, my hands miss the wall, I turn, head first, into the corner. Blood is pouring down my face. I grab my eyelids and scrub my eyes with Haitian water, good idea, and ignore the blood in my hands. Once I have my eyes scrubbed, I yell, "Someone come quick, I busted my head open."
We get it tgaken care of.
The next day, I have to go to the ONLY surgeon in Les Cayes, a family friend of Vlaldimir's. He shaves the part of my head where the cut is. Now I have a bad spot. That's the worst part.
I don't have time to update more, or upload pictures.
Just know, we're doing good, playing soccer, and eating AMAZING Haitian food, even seafood. Yes, Mom, seafood, and it was good.
Until later. Au Revoir.

ReplyDeleteOooh, sorry about the "accident" and your head (that would totally happen to me- I currently have no nail on one finger and both my knees are full of bruises. he he he.)
I am glad you guys are enjoying the food and that you love being there and are safe. Relief. Hi, Jani. :)
